Hard Water Treatment in Southeast Texas
Calcium and magnesium deposits damage your plumbing, appliances, and skin. A properly sized water softener is the proven solution.
Free Water Hardness TestWhat Is Hard Water?
Hard water is water that contains elevated concentrations of dissolved calcium and magnesium. These minerals enter groundwater as it percolates through limestone and dolomite formations — which are widespread throughout Southeast Texas. Water hardness is measured in grains per gallon (GPG) or milligrams per liter (mg/L). Montgomery, Walker, Grimes and Houston Counties area water typically ranges from 10–25 GPG, which is classified as very hard.
When hard water is heated or evaporates, calcium carbonate precipitates out of solution and deposits as white scale. Over time this scale coats the inside of pipes, water heaters, and appliances — reducing efficiency and causing premature failure.

Signs You Have Hard Water
- White, chalky scale on faucets and showerheads
- Spots on dishes, glasses, and cookware
- Soap that won't lather — slimy residue on skin
- Dry, itchy skin and brittle hair after showering
- Water heater running less efficiently
- Scale inside dishwasher and washing machine
- Reduced water pressure from scaled pipes
- Higher energy bills from scale-insulated heating elements
The Solution: Ion-Exchange Water Softener
Ion-exchange water softening is the gold standard for hard water treatment. The softener passes water through a bed of resin beads that exchange calcium and magnesium ions for sodium ions. The result is soft water that doesn't form scale, lathers easily, and is gentle on skin, hair, and plumbing.
Clear Solution Services installs non-proprietary water softeners using Fleck® and Clack® control valves — the industry standard for reliability and serviceability. You are never locked into proprietary salt delivery or overpriced replacement parts.
